John Hartford
Featured in the February/March issue of
Dirty Linen

John Hartford is featured in the current issue of Dirty Linen. The cover story provides an in-depth look into John's three decades of performing and recording. I am also proud to say, that the article features several of my pictures of John, including the cover photo. For an excerpt of the article go to Dirty Linen's web page. The full text of the article has been reprinted online by Music Boulevard.

John will also be featured in the forthcoming issue of Fiddler magazine. The Spring '97 issue will contain a cover story and interview with John, and the cover photo will be another shot of mine.

One of John's most popular albums will be available on CD.

Rounder Records will be re-releasing Aereo-plain on CD in the next couple of months. This album, recorded in the 1971, features Norman Blake, Tut Taylor, Vassar Clements and Randy Scruggs. The progressive bluegrass music on this recording was influential to many bluegrass performers, including New Grass Revival members: Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, John Cowan, and the late Courtney Johnson. This album was also the catalyst that gained John many fans on college campuses across the country. Most of those fans are still loyal to his music today.

I will post the release date on the web page as soon as it is announced.

John will host a benefit for Roy Huskey Jr. at the Station Inn.

John and Kathy Chiavola will co-host "Roy Huskey Appreciation Day" at the Station Inn. Details about the all-star benefit are available on Station Inn's web site.

I am happy to announce that the web page has received some publicity over the past couple of months. Dirty Linen mentioned the URL of the page in John's Selected Discography and in the Itinerary section of the magazine. Also, in Jim Swift's column of the Decmber 23rd issue of The Waterways Journal, he summarized John's latest newsletter and provided the web address.

I would like to thank everyone of you who make this web site worthwhile. And thanks for the word-of-mouth publicity that continues to bring new visitors to the site every day.

Sincerely,
David Schenk
