I'll try to sum up the experience in a few words, but it's not easy to describe that weekend.

John Hartford's Fiddler's Retreat was THE most enlightening musical experience I have ever had. I've been playing one instument or another for nearly 30 years and even though I've only been playing fiddle for 6 months, I came away with an enormous bag of tricks I can use now, and loads of tricks to utilize years into the future. My fellow fiddlers were wonderful, and John and Marie along with Julia, Sherri, Tom, Gary were nothing less than kind, warm and giving people. I know I'm supposed to say something meaningful about the weekend, but I came away with so many things words could not describe. My wife and I feel truly lucky to have been part of a magical musical and personal event like that weekend. Nuff said, the rest I'll keep in my head and heart!
