Both organizations publish informative journals covering steamboat history. Each has an annual convention at which members congregate to tell stories and share information.
The photographs are courtesy of the Inland Rivers Photo Preservation Institute at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's Murphy Library. Ralph DuPae has an exhaustive collection of old steamboat photographs and has kindly shared them with us.
For steamboating opportunities today, see the Delta Queen Steamboat Company for overnight trips or the Steamboat Natchez for day cruises.
