I remember John Hartford on the Smothers Brothers and Glen Campbell shows. However, I was blown away when, as an eleventh grader, I first heard Aereo Plain. I listened to that record so may times it skipped and popped on every song. I saw John at the Philly Folk festival back in the seventies and he thrilled me with his virtuosity. While I had been a bluegrass fan for years, Mark Twang offered a wonderfully "new" transformation of the music. John, you will be sorely missed. May God provide you peace, a riverboat, and a fiddle forever.
