Spending many of the summers of my youth as a deck rat on the Julia Belle Swain, John influenced me early on. As a 7-year old I remember the celebration in Louisville when the JBS won the Derby Week Great Steamboat race. To this day I have NOT sold me a suit, cut off my hair or gone to work in tall bulidings! May you hear the hiss of a steam engine and the rythmic slap of the paddlewheel. I thank you!
