Where did John get words like this from. He amazed me with his wit and use of words.

Here's a great introduction for John on his "The Walls We Bounce Off Of" album.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, a multi-fauceted man of many spigots, a human soup bean, a legume in his own time."

There will indeed never be another John Hartford. He was a true hero.

I first saw him at a concert in Columbia Missouri in the early 70s. I can't entirely recall but I think he opened up for Deep Purple. I definately remember the "Washing Machine Song".

Then I saw him again at the Rotary Park in Wentzville Missouri. He was weak, the crowd was very small, the weather was terribly damp and cold. But John came out and performed. He was great. And then he sat and talked to everyone after the show.

What a guy.
