Second post.
Does anyone know exactly what the criteria and/or qualfications are for induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame? I can't imagine that John does not qualify.
I'm also quite often mystified at the politics in these type things. I think John was first and foremost, country and bluegrass, even though his songs appealed to many pop fans. At his age(63), with full public knowledge that he had a terminal illness for so many (20+)years, and the fact that he contributed *so much* and brought in so many new fans to several genres, it is beyond me why this honor was not bestowed upon him while he was still living. Posthumous would still be an honor, but wouldn't it have been nice to see him "so humbly" accept this as he would have?
